Muskogee Band Wins Top Honors – Presented by Monica Medley Century 21

“It Takes…What it Takes”
Marching 130 members strong, the Pride of Muskogee Rougher Regiment proved to be the best of the best during recent competition at the North Central Iowa Marching Contest in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Displaying their precision and musical talents, the Muskogee band captured top honors as the Grand Champion in competition against 11 other high school bands. Posting a score of 92.2, the Rougher Regiment claimed first place group honors in Class 4A. The musical skills of the group impressed the judges as Muskogee was also awarded Best Percussion and Best Woodwind honors.

“The kids are really excited about what we’re doing this year to establish a new culture,” said Mike Sisco, Director of Bands at Muskogee. “After all the hard work and extra hours of practice, the kids were rewarded for the efforts.

The Muskogee band will compete in five contests this year.

“We were able to perform our entire routine. I’m so proud of these young people for their commitment and dedication to perfect the show,” said Sisco. “Winning this competition was a great way to help us stay in step for the remaining contests including the OSSAA state championships.”
