Junior Addison Moffett is a great example of what a leader should be according to her Muskogee High cheer coach Kadie Stinson.

“Addison exemplifies what it means to be a leader. She leads by example and helps in rallying the team together. She is usually the last person to leave to ensure that facilities are clean and tidy. Along with her leadership skills she is also a very talented backspot, elite tumbler and skilled dancer.”

That tumbling skill is something that Addison has perfected over many years of work.

“I started gymnastics when I was just a kid but eventually just did tumbling because I loved doing the actual tumbling skills, “said Addison. “I’ve been on a competitive cheer team for four years and currently work with Oklahoma Spirit Company in Wagoner.”

She’s pretty down to earth about how she approaches leadership even though she’s just a junior.

“I feel like I’m good at making sure we try to stay on task and accomplish what we need to that day. I like to lead stretches and other drills and I like being the example and helping out when people are struggling,” said Addison who is on the prom committee, Oklaoma Honor Society and the Early College High School program at Muskogee.

She credits her parents with being the main motivators in her life because they encourage her in everything she does and have taught her many life lessons. She also has a special place for her friends and teammates that are going through their final year.

“The first football game of the season was so special to me. I have a few friends graduating this year so seeing how far they’ve come made me emotional. I love all of them dearly and they all supported me for a long time, so knowing it was my last first game with them, I cherished it.”

Over the next year and a half in high school, Addison wants to finish her college associate degree through the Early College High School program and then after graduation go to another college and get a business degree.
