

Senior lineman Vernon Pepiakitah has been named the Player of the Year for District 6AII-1 football for 2023.
“Pep” is one of seven Rougher football players from the 6AII state championship team to receive player of the year honors as voted on by the eight district coaches. Eight other Roughers were named to the All-District Team. Only seniors were eligible for these honors.
Other Roughers honored as players of the year include linebacker Treyveon Houston as the Defensive Player of the Year, Kayden McGee as Receiver of the Year, Brayd’n Henry as Offensive Lineman of the Year and Teyon Brewer as Defensive Lineman of the Year, Deyonn Bowler as Returner of the Year, and Jayden Swanson as Corner of the Year.
Seniors Kaleb Huston, Anthony Watson, Wesley Harvey, Parker Pellet, Israel Martin, Ayrion Parrish, Martell Bolden and Jayden Smith were all named to the All-District team.
