
Muskogee Rougher assistant football coach Kenneth “Tuffy” Thornton has been named to head the East team for this summer’s All State football game.
“Tuffy” was selected by fellow coaches to be head coach for the July 26 contest and will be assisted by Kyle Fry from Cushing and Forrest Mazey from McAlester.
Thornton recently completed his second season as the offensive line coach for the Roughers. Now in his 33rd year of coaching, “Tuffy” has had head coaching stops at Tahlequah and Keys and served as an assistant at Stilwell, Enid, Tulsa East Central, Sapulpa, Broken Arrow, Sperry, and Greenwood, Arkansas.
Thornton is a graduate of Tahlequah High School and played college football at Northeastern State University.
