Several members of the Muskogee’s state runner-up football team recently gained honors as top performers in District 6A-II-2.

Quarterback Jamarian Ficklin was named the district Player of the Year. Ficklin completed a career at Muskogee High that included a state championship in 2023. He passed for 10,841 yards in his four years as the Rougher signal caller with 121 career touchdown tosses placing him fifth overall in state history among high school quarterbacks. He was a part of all four Muskogee touchdowns in the state title game and led a late game drive as the Roughers tried to pull out the victory. Ficklin has committed to play college football next year at the University of Utah.

Running back PJ Wallace was named the district Offensive Player of the Year. The Bartlesville transfer rushed for 1773 yards in his year as a Rougher and scored two touchdowns in the state finals.

Linebacker Tim Moore was awarded the district Defensive Player of the Year honor. The three-year starter compiled 350 tackles in his career including 12 in the loss to Choctaw.

Other Roughers honored included J’Lyn Burns, the Tulsa Rogers transfer who was the Offensive Newcomer of the Year, Wide Receiver and return specialist Ondraye Beasley recognized as the Special Teams Player of the Year, Gervon Washington was the Tight End of the Year, Miguel Chavez, who will play for Oklahoma State next year, was the district Offensive Lineman of the Year. Micheal Puckett was named the Cornerback of the Year for the district and LaTavian Johnson received the award as the Inside Linebacker of the Year.

Several other Roughers were also named to the All-District team including Edward James, Noah Darnell, Anthony White, Dustin Carpenter, Reese Summerhill, Jackson Raper, Connor Freeman, Ethan Lee and O’Shea Stevenson
