Seeking to start the season with a 7-0 record for the first time since 2007, the Muskogee Roughers return to Rougher Village to meet the Tahlequah Tigers on Hall of Fame night as seven former Muskogee greats are enshrined to the Hall of Fame class for 2022.
Fresh off a dominating 66-0 victory over U.S. Grant as the Roughers posted 52 points in the first quarter alone to remain undefeated in Class 6A-II district play, Muskogee will battle the Tigers (2-4,1-2) as the two squads meet for the first time since 2007, when the Roughers reached the Class 6A state semifinals.
Paced by the passing of sophomore quarterback Jamarian Ficklin, who has thrown for 1,586 yards in six games including 26 touchdown strikes to seven different receivers led by Kayden McGee who has 10 trips to the endzone, the Roughers will test the Tahlequah secondary while the Muskogee defense that has collected 15 sacks plus 10 pass interceptions anchored by the aggressive efforts of linebackers Brandon Tolbert, Treyveon Houston and Deshawn Smith will seek to extend its current streak of nine consecutive quarters of scoreless football.
Game time at Rougher Village is set for 7pm. The game will be broadcast via livestream at YouTube.com/RougherTV as well as heard on radio on KTFX 101.7fm.
