After a season-opening victory over Claremore, 15-14, the Bruins have been held winless totaling just 21 points over four games. Bartlesville fell to undefeated Bixby, 71-0, at home to close out the month of September and fell 66-0 to Booker T. Washington last week.
Muskogee fell to Sand Springs, 48-34, inside Indian Bowl last week despite a 398 yard, three-touchdown performance by freshman quarterback Jamarian Ficklin. The Roughers allowed a kickoff return touchdown and the Sandites returned a Muskogee fumble for a touchdown to be the difference in the ball game.
The Roughers are a game ahead of the Bruins in the Class 6A Division II District 2 standings. Muskogee sits tied with Booker T. Washington at 1-1 in district play but five games behind the Hornets.
