Coach: Jeremy Ford
20-21 Record: 9-11
The Lady Roughers begin this season with the proven scoring talents of Akira Eubanks (5-9, Sr.) returning for a third season to join trio of juniors who developed experience a year ago. “Akira is a skilled guard that can score quickly,” replied head coach Jeremy Ford, who enters his third season. “She can score from anywhere on the court.” The basketball IQ of Bianca McVay (5-8, Jr.) and Jakayla Swanson (5-8, Jr.) will provide Ford’s lineup with court vision and shooting talents for a third season while Makiah Cherry (6-0, Jr.) provides a long and athletic defender in the post. The Roughers expect to get a youthful infusion of athleticism from Malaysia Burton (5-7, Fr.) that Ford expects to provide another scoring threat. “Altogether, this group of girls is eager to do things the right way and prove that we can compete every time we step on the court.”
