ROUGHERS CHOOSE NEW HEAD COACH-sponsored by York Street Tire

Dale Condict was introduced Friday as the new head football coach for Muskogee.

The announcement ended a week of speculation about a successor to Travis Hill that included Condict and former Rougher head coach Matt Hennesy and a couple of school board meetings.

Condict comes to Muskogee after spending 19 years as the had coach at Wagoner where he captured six state championships. He spent a year on Ron Freeman’s coaching staff at Muskogee in 1997 and had been considered for head coach in 2011 and 2014 before electing to stay at Wagoner.

Muskogee’s sparkling new Rougher Village facility played a big part in his decision.

“Once I got inside and saw what that place had to offer, the hooks were in me,” said Condict.

Condict for his coaching career has posted 277 wins in his tour at Wagoner and Comanche.

“That record said a lot,” said Superintendent Dr. Jarod Mendenhall. “The other things I saw were a great heart, a great disposition and someone who I think can keep kids here and build on what we’ve done.”
